Self-image (2020)

acrylics on canvas
60 x 72 cm

The self-portrait as such has always been relevant throughout history. Technological innovations have developed the genre in different directions over the years and social media is perhaps the most inclusive to date. This work is a silent protest against the abundance of self-portraits online. By turning my Facebook profile picture into an acrylic painting, I embrace that things are still allowed to take time. There’s no rush.
